OPUS BICYCLES WARRANTY POLICY

DISCLAIMER

The bicycle industry is highly competitive and in constant evolution. Major technical developments occur from time to time that impact production of components. Certain bike models, frames or components may be no longer manufactured as a result of technical advances/breakthrough in material concepts and manufacturing process. Therefore, the consumer must be made aware that original parts may become scarce or outdated following the passage of time, and no longer manufactured. While Opus Bicycles provides a warranty against product defects, replacement parts may become no longer available and repairs cannot be made.

WARRANTY

Opus Bicycles (“Opus”) warranties each new Opus aluminum against defects in materials and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the bicycle.

Opus carbon bicycle frames, manufactured in 2016 or after, are warrantied against defects in materials and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the bicycle.

Opus carbon bicycle frames, manufactured in 2015 or before, are warrantied against defects in materials and workmanship for five years from the date of purchase.

Opus dual suspension carbon and aluminum frames and all rigid forks are warrantied against defects in materials and workmanship for two years from the date of purchase.

Paint and decals are warrantied for one year from the date of purchase. Colour fade as a result of harmful UV exposure or sunlight is not covered.

Opus also warranties all Opus branded original parts against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase.

Components, suspension forks and other parts of the bicycle are not considered parts of the frame and are not covered under the terms of the frame warranty. Replacement of third party original parts and components are subject to original part manufacturer’s warranty and service policy. Request for warranty replacement for third party original part should be made with your dealer or that part’s brand.

Rental/Demo Bicycles: Bicycles used for rental or demo purposes must be registered to be eligible for Opus warranty.  Used bicycles purchased from an authorized Opus retailer or rental operator are not covered under Opus warranty.

This warranty is expressly limited to the repair or replacement of the defective frame, fork or part, at Opus’s discretion, and is the sole remedy provided for by the warranty or any implied warranty. The replacement or return policies are subject from time to time to modifications. If your product packaging, catalogue or other literature has a written warranty policy included that differs from the warranty policy posted at www.opusbike.com, the warranty policy on our website will prevail and apply.

Opus warranty applies to the original owner from the date of purchase and is not transferable. Claims under this warranty must be made through an authorized Opus dealer. Original proof of purchase is required to process a claim. Proof of purchase must include: customer name, store name, date of purchase, description of bike model/year, serial number of product, proof of closed sale/paid in full (hand-written receipts are not accepted), A warranty registration card or web form (www.opusbike.com/en/register-your-bike.html) must have been completed and received by Opus within 30 days of the purchase date for a warranty claim to be processed.

To obtain warranty service, the complete bicycle must be presented to an authorized Opus dealer for inspection, together with a proof of purchase, which identifies the bicycle by serial number. Any labor, postage, insurance, or shipping costs incurred in sending your product for service are the responsibility of the owner. Opus will not be responsible for products lost or damaged in shipping. Products damaged in transport should be claimed with the transport company directly.

Once received by Opus, the product will be inspected to determine if it is covered by the Opus warranty. Only Opus may determine if a product is covered by the Opus warranty. If the product is not covered under warranty, all replacement, repair, labor, and shipping costs are responsibility of the owner. Dealer may charge for labor and parts. Labour charges for parts changeovers are not covered by the Opus warranty. Opus is not responsible for the cost and replacement of compatible parts necessary for the rebuild of the replacement frame. Opus cannot return un-repairable non-warrantied products to the dealer or owner if they are unsafe to use in their un-repaired condition.

Should a dealer or owner replace product or parts before consulting Opus, it is at the sole discretion of the dealer or owner, and shall not be subject to reimbursement by Opus. When a product or part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes the property of the owner and the returned product becomes the property of Opus, to be disposed of as Opus chooses.

In the case where Opus cannot replace the product with an identical one, Opus will do its best to find a suitable alternative (ex: color, model, size) or offer a reasonable solution.

Bicycles are not indestructible, and every Opus bicycle has a useful product life cycle. The length of that useful product life cycle will vary depending on the construction and the materials of the frame, maintenance and care the frame receives, and the amount and type of use the frame is subject to over its life. Your bicycle dealer is the best source of care and information for your bicycle. The more you ride – and the harder you ride – the more frequently you should have your bicycle professionally inspected and maintained.

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, improper assembly or follow-up maintenance, or installation of parts or accessories not originally intended or compatible with the bicycle as sold or not made or sold by Opus. The warranty does not apply to damage or failure due to accidents, misuse, abuse, neglect or any commercial or competitive use. Modification of the frame or components shall void this warranty. Opus shall not be responsible or otherwise held liable for any direct, incidental or consequential damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above exclusion may not apply. If any exclusion is held to be legally invalid, all the other terms of this warranty shall remain in full force and effect. This warranty gives the consumer specific legal rights, and those rights may vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. This warranty does not affect the statutory rights of the consumer.

Bicycle specifications may change without notice. See an authorized Opus dealer for more details.
