A first bicycle is something kids never forget. It marks the beginning of independence, outdoor adventures, and a lifetime of riding. Whether it’s a family weekend ride, a trip to the park, or the commute to school, cycling helps children stay active, build confidence, and have fun getting there.
The Opus Curve is designed to go wherever kids want to go, it features a lightweight alloy frame, a durable steel fork, kid-friendly brake levers, easy-to-use shifters, and all-purpose tires. It comes in three sizes (16″, 20″, and 24″) to grow alongside your child.

Choosing the Right Size
Many parents look for a bike their child can “grow into,” but the wrong size can work against them. Finding the right fit sets your child up for success. A properly sized bike means they can touch the ground easily, handle confidently, and enjoy every ride from day one.

The best starting point is measuring your child’s height and inseam with feet flat on the floor and no shoes on. If they fall between two sizes, let their experience with bikes guide you: beginners do better on the smaller size for control and confidence, while more experienced riders can step up.

Quick-Fit Checklist
Before your child’s first ride with a new bike, run through these basics:
Feet on the Ground
Seated, your child should be able to place both feet flat on the ground (toes down is fine for 16″ bikes with training wheels, or for taller, more experienced riders).

Knees Bent When Pedalling
Knees should stay slightly bent, making it easy to stop and put their feet down.

Top Tube Clearance
Standing over the bike, there should be at least 2″ (5 cm) of space between your child and the top tube.

Comfortable Reach
Handlebars and brake levers should be easy to reach without stretching.

Overall Confidence
If your child feels stable and relaxed, the fit is right.

What About Training Wheels?

The 16″ Curve comes with removable training wheels, though they’re optional. Kids who’ve already used a balance bike may not need them at all. If you do use them, start them level with the ground and gradually raise them over time to build balance progressively.
Key Features for Kids
Weight and Frame
Opus kids’ bikes are designed to be light, typically 30 to 40% of the child’s body weight, so they’re easy to handle and maneuver.

Tires
Low-profile knurled treads offer a good balance of traction, comfort, and rolling efficiency on pavement and light trails.
Brakes And Levers
All models use rim brakes with adjustable, kid-sized hand levers.

Gears and Shifting
The 16″ is single speed for simplicity. The 20″ and 24″ models come with a 7-speed indexed drivetrain with intuitive icons to help understand when to shift.
Safety Details
Chain protection and specific safety features included depending on the model.

Tailored for Kids
Seat, handlebars, stems, brake levers and cranks are size specific to each model.
