Chapter III : Greylock
Since our first meeting Nicolas reminisced about his trip in Italy alongside some of the most beautiful climbs he’d ever cycled! Undeniably it planted the seed to one day measure my own skills amongst a memorable beast! A legit climbs, not like the only one montrealers call Camillien Houde. At the height Greylock stood, it offered just what I was looking for. The day I was impatiently waiting finally came. With steep efforts and lots of long distance riding at high intensities ... I told myself; how hard can this really be? At a point that I’d never imagined! Mentally, managing my effort was incredibly hard with nonexistent recovery areas during an hour of uninterrupted clamber. The two Nic’s distanced themselves after the first few kilometers. Martin had stayed back for encouragements while I kept Goph’s pace in and out of the truck with his camera gear. Not easy on the ego, but crazy fun while I discovered something new at every stroke. In addition, the weather set the stage for movie scene, the rain gave way to a dense fog in an environment like known other.
