Opus Bicycles is looking for a Bicycle Product Manager to join the Opus product development team, lead product development for the electric bike program and oversee Montreal assembly operations for electric bikes. Assistance with development of youth and trail bikes may also be required.

Job Description:

Product Development:

- Develop new models and update existing ones

- Source OEM bicycle components

- Maintain contact with parts suppliers for any/all new information and technology

- Modify, review and approve frame drawings

- Ensure compatibility of frames/forks with current and new parts/technology

- Create and maintain technical spec sheets

- Coordinate samples assembly and testing

- Support sales and marketing teams with competitive information, specs and technical information.

- Troubleshoot if/when there are issues with current production models and propose solutions  

- Provide dealer and retail pricing data for the sales team in collaboration with other managers

- Monitor current bicycle and market trends

- Assist, when necessary, with input/guidance on warranty claims


Montreal assembly:

- Coordinate with logistics and receiving departments

- In collaboration with Head Opus Product Manager, supervise the Production Manager on tasks on assembly, related tasks and assembly and staff schedules

- Support the sales reps and CSR with up-to-date information regarding the production schedules

- Oversee purchases of tools, miscellaneous parts and supplies

- Ensure a safe work environment



 Required skills and experience:

- 3-4 years of work experience in the bicycle manufacturing industry

- A degree in business administration, design, engineering or related field would be an asset

- Excellent knowledge of bicycles technology and mechanics with particular knowledge in areas related to electric bikes

- Excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly MS Excel.

- Knowledge of 2D/3D drawing software is an asset

- Experience in a PC computer environment

- Proficiency in French and English

- Valid passport and ability to travel to Asia/Europe 2-3 times a year
